Summer Fun at Home with Kids
What You'll Find on This Page
Today was the last day of school for my kids! We are all looking forward to a three months of summer fun at home. My kids have tons of plans for their time – my eleven-year-old created a two-page list of educational activities. School has been out for about three hours so far, and – besides compiling said activity list – they’ve already held a small writer’s workshop. Currently they are discussing the meaning of STEM and STEAM. My children are nerds, and they do this sort of thing on their own. My contribution was shaved ice (made using this wonderful shaved ice machine) and bookshelves full of books to inspire them.
Setting Goals for June 2017
I only had three goals for May. I did make some progress on decluttering and organizing the house. My children have, thankfully, completely recovered from giving away their favorite couch. They agree, now at least, that the extra space in our living room is worth it! My kids decorated lovely thank you cards with very simple messages inside. I made a photo gift to give Johnny’s teacher, where I was the room parent this year. I cut out a sewing project, but I haven’t made time to start sewing it. Oops. Now for June goals…
- Enjoy time off from school! Gratitude and mindful living.
- Sew up the project I cut out. Education.
- Continue to work on organizing and decluttering. Mindful living.
What are your goals for June? My friend Cassie is busy unpacking from her move, while creating new printables for her Teachers Pay Teachers shop. Kate has some great reflections on the end of the school year and the start of summer. Please share your goals for the month in the comments below, or on my Facebook page. They are getting so big!!! I can’t believe how fast they are growing up! We have 2.5 more weeks of school! Our goal is just to get through it! It’s finals weeks for the two oldest in high school and the youngest is suffering from a concussion. We are looking forward to summer!
La la la la la la la la! It’s not June yet!
If I keep doing this, will that make it true?
Happy Summer Vacation! I love hearing that your children are so proactive in thinking about how they want to spend the summer months – and they are adding in such a great variety of things.
Emma looks so tall in this picture! We have another week of school left and then a summer of travel and camps. We are looking forward to it!
She is definitely growing, but still mostly average for her class I think.
