Did you notice that it’s been quiet around here this past week? We shut down our computer and went camping – with my entire family (minus one brother-in-law who couldn’t make it). Seventeen adults, and seventeen grandkids aged ten and under! It was so fun to see the cousins bond, and my kids LOVED having so many aunts and uncles to play with as well!
We had 10×10 foot cabins to sleep in, and a huge lodge to hang out in, and showers with hot water. So it was quite glamorous camping, really. A week of being unplugged – such a gift!
My family spans the globe (literally), and we hadn’t all gotten together like this since 2008. It was wonderful to catch up with everyone! I especially enjoyed seeing the magical cousin bond that I remember from my own childhood – instant friendships, even where this was the first time they met!
Plenty of time to play with grandparents, too! Now, if only we lived closer to each other – or if someone would invent teleportation.
We also put our house on the market, in hopes that it would sell while we were gone. Four offers within 36 hours of being open to the public, but two of those four fell through. Here’s hoping the third time’s the charm!
How was your week?

So awesome you could unplug and get away with your family! Praying your house sells quick!
Oh that cousin bonding is a wonderful thing! So glad you had a nice family reunion. We went unplugged this vacation also and it was so nice to get rid of the ‘tech noise’.
Looks like an amazing time – where did you go?
It’s in Sharon, VT :)
Wow, girl. You’ve had quite the adventure with glamor-camping and all those offers on your house. Exciting! We’re going ten camping in about 2 weeks, and although I’d much rather have cabins and a lodge, I think it will still be fun.
I hope your camping trip goes well!
How wonderful time to spend time with your entire extended family!! And camping is such a great way to bond! Where did you go? Do you recommend it?
The campsite was great, but it’s privately owned. We were lucky to get a spot!
You are a GENIUS for having your house go up for sale as you went off camping!! So hoping a great offer sticks soon!!!
Yay for a week of being unplugged and for cousin bonding and hot showers. Awesome!
Wow, that’s amazing you got offers so fast.
It would be awesome if someone invented a transporter….. I’m sure it’d be crazy expensive though.
Sounds like fun! Camping is a sure way to bring the whole family together!
I’m amused (is that the right word?) that we both had two offers fall through. We’re still waiting for our charming third. I’m excited it moved so quickly! Yours really is a gorgeous house. And the camping looks so fun. I always wish I could stay forever when I’m with my whole family.
How incredibly exciting for your family to get together that way! I hope the house sells quickly.
It was great! And thanks for the well wishes with the house sale!
How lucky you all are to get to do this! What fun! And, best of luck with the house.
Thanks! We had a great time :)
Great family pictures. I can’t believe how fast you got offers! I hope it works out for you guys.
Thanks! Me too!
That sounds like so much fun!
That’s awesome you got so many offers, I hope one of them works!!
So do I! Offer #3 looks all right for now, but their funding is sort of iffy. I think we’ll get more offers if it falls through, but I would love to be able to stop keeping the house show-ready all the time!
What a great week! Keeping fingers crossed for you on your offer!
Hot water + camping = awesome!
We had some of those instant friendships happen at my sister’s wedding this past winter, so great!
The instant friendships always amaze me. They are fantastic!
