This week I suddenly find myself the mother of three school-going children! Emma started first grade, and Johnny and Lily are both in preschool. All three kids were placed with teachers who seem to be perfect fits for their personalities, and they are very happy and excited about school so far!
Johnny is so excited to have Lily at school with him this year, and it’s pretty adorable to see them walking hand in hand at drop-off and pick-up!
I feel that the greatest afterschool learning this week is through having a baby in the house again! Anna is learning and growing so quickly, and we are all learning from her at the same time – about patience, love, happiness, gratitude, and more.
Mike was out of town again – even longer than intended, thanks to a Lufthansa strike. We were thrilled when he finally made it home – as captured by Anna’s smiles!
As for me, I’m sleep-deprived and behind on pretty much everything. I’m working on both of those. But I wouldn’t trade sleep or organization for all that I have!
How was your week?

That picture of Johnny and Lily is so adorable. I am glad to make it back home too!
Thanks!
I am glad you made it home, too!
Very sweet!
Oh, my! I seriously cam’t come to your blog lately without getting misty eyed! What got me today? Preschool Lily and of course the baby (ever time)! I see nothing to trade too : )
I smiled the whole time….great pictures!
Adorable pictures, Maryanne! And, little Anna in her daddy’s arms with a glorious smile is a really precious capture! Hugs to all the little ones and best wishes for school :-)
Thank you, Rashmie :)
YOU HAD THE BABY!!!!! I haven’t been on here in so long… but I’ve been thinking about you and your family! CONGRATULATIONS!!! She’s beautiful!
Thank you, Tracye!
And you shouldn’t trade it! Enjoy ALL of it!
Your kids are gorgeous! I bet you enjoy the time with the baby!
Beautiful children! One day they will all be in school and you will be wondering what you should do with yourself! Enjoy them, Dear! They grow up all too fast!
Thanks for sharing Mary Anne. I just love you. :) Quinn also started with first today. Bid day for her. :)
Wonderful summary of your life at the moment. So glad you captured it in words and photos to look back on when you’re much more organised and caught up on sleep. :)
aww…look at little anna smiling so sweetly at her daddy! too precious!
I think every mother has realized that sleep and organization are totally optional in our line of work! :)
I know Anna must love her one on one time with Mommy. It will be a big adjustment the next few weeks with the 3 biggest in school. I love the picture of Johnny and Lily walking hand in hand to school, so cute. Wishing Emma a great year in first grade. So glad you’re joining & hosting the After School Link Up this school year.
Such gorgeous photos! The one of Emma is especially stunning. Very happy that Mike is home and I love seeing all these smiling faces.
I always loved it when my kids were all in preschool and they’d walk through the parking lot holding hands. They don’t do that so much now……. Sigh, I miss that.
They start acting “cool” WAY too young…
Saw you Twitter post and just had to come and see your children. They are so cute! Mine are older and I while they are fun at every age I have to admit that I miss the snuggles that younger children give.
Darling family.
Thank you, Denise!
Geez, wouldn’t it be great if I could write well? I normally use correct language. I am notoriously bad on the keyboard. Glad you got the gist of it. thanks.
Wishing your kids a great school year! Lovely family pics :)
Summer sure went fast! That pic of Johnny and Lily holding hands is adorable. I’m so glad everyone is enjoying school so far. Thank goodness Mike is home! I’m sure it’s very difficult to care for 4 kids by yourself!
Hi MaryAnne! I found you through the After School hop and I’m now following you on Google+, Twitter and FB. You have lovely children and you take great photos!
Thanks, Christine!
I love these pictures. How sweet that Johnny is so excited about having his sister at school with him! Very cute!
Man they have the sweetest smiles!
Thanks, Megan!
Sweet pictures! I’m sure it’s nice to get a little one on one time with Anna too.
Thanks, Kelly! I really enjoy the one-on-one time with Anna – and she does, too!
