Chocolate sauce doesn’t get much easier or more delicious than this! All you need for this chocolate sauce, which can also use as a chocolate dip, are these two ingredients, in equal parts:
- Your favorite chocolate chips. My current favorites are the huge Kirkland Signature brand bag that Costco started selling a few months ago. They beat out Guittard, Ghiradelli, and Trader Joe’s (all previous favorites) – in taste and price!
- Butter – or coconut oil!
Two Ingredient Recipe for Chocolate Sauce
Melt the butter/coconut oil and chocolate chips together in a saucepan (microwave can work, but I feel like stovetop makes it smoother, and it really doesn’t take very long).
Pour over your treat – or dip strawberries (make sure the strawberries are nice and cold from the fridge for best results). This recipe also works in candy melt molds – like these LEGO bricks and LEGO minifigures!
This chocolate concoction cools solid. If you want something more chewy, try adding marshmallows. Make sure you don’t over-cook your sauce!

What is your favorite quick treat?

Yum! I LOVE chocolate! Especially dark chocolate.
I’ve never found chocolate chips that I love, but your picture makes this treat look amazing!
Yummy and so easy! I had no idea! My girls will love this!
Wow that really is simple! And that banana split ice cream looks awesome just about now (never mind that it’s the crack of dawn!) :)
I didn’t even bother reading before I pinned this!
I love rolos melted on pretzels. Truthfully my snacking trends run toward chips and salsa, so I pick up creamy jalapeno from a local restaurant and spend the night snacking on chips.
Yummmmm!! I’m making this right now! :) Michelle
Yumm! This sounds so good! I wish we would get chocolate chips here. I substitute chocolate bars for most recipes but I’m not sure they would work with this one.
We have the Costco brand, but haven’t finished the Tollhouse ones to try them yet. Now I’m looking forward to trying them! We’re a big fan of graham crackers, frosting, and chocolate chips.
Your recipe is similar to the chocolate we add on top of our brownies (we add 1 tsp of vanilla to it). Delicious!
1 tsp of vanilla would be great with this – thanks for the idea!
This sounds absolutely delicious. I am going to put these chocolate chips on our shopping list for the next trip to Costco!
I haven’t figured out where the chocolate chips are in our new Costco yet. I knew where EVERYTHING was in the one we went to in Massachusetts – we did nearly all of our shopping there!
