Snow was unquestionably the highlight of this week! In fact, it would have been quite bleak otherwise. I was sick at the start of the week, along with Lily. I got better in time to play with the kids in the snow for a couple blissful days before Johnny – and then Lily again – got sick. There were three nights this week where I got nearly no sleep, looking after sick kids – and one day that an utterly miserable Johnny and Lily spent almost entirely in tears. At one point my two kiddos who are typically best friends were fighting over a single sheet of black construction paper – and, of course, no other sheet of black construction paper would do. I should point out that on that particular day, we had no snow – only dreary grey skies and pouring rain. Mike and Emma miraculously stayed healthy, and Emma enjoyed a play date with a friend as well as a fancy movie theater birthday party! Her valentines cheered all of us up, too.
Lily and Johnny spent their less-miserable moments playing with colored rice, painting with icicles, and playing with their toy cars.
I am so grateful that my kids are starting to feel better! How was your week – healthier than ours, I hope?

So sorry you’ve had such a rough week. Hopefully things are looking up now and everyone will stay healthy! We’re still waiting for our first snow of the year…
My heart goes out to you guys – it’s so hard being sick (and pregnant!) yourself while looking after others who are sick. Glad the snow provided a highlight. I hope all of you are back to 100% soon and the icky sick bugs skip your house for the rest of the winter.
There’s something about rain that really can make an otherwise normal person nuts…….
I think it was making all of us nuts on Friday…
Ugh! I am sorry you had such a tough week. It always looks very rosy from your other blog posts. I hope everyone stays healthy this week.
We have our ups and downs like everyone else – I just focus on the positives for the blog, most of the time =)
I hope you all stay healthy! Wednesday, I was so nauseated. I couldn’t move. Luckily, Dave came home around noon and I spent the day by the toilet and then in bed. I have never felt like that before. I’m so glad nothing ever happened and that I didn’t break my world record of not barfing since the 80’s. LOL! I woke up fine on Thursday. It was so strange!
There’s been some sort of awful stomach bug going around out here – most of our friends got it and we got a note sent home from Emma’s school about it. I’m hoping we don’t get it – so far all we’ve only had respiratory problems this winter…

Your post looks wonderful! Thanks for linking me up! Looking forward to the carnival =)
I hope you are all better soon and glad you’re enjoying the snow! I sent you an email about the All Year Blog Carnival yesterday so hope you got it and sorry for the delay in getting in touch. I’ve linked to Mama Smiles in this post about the carnival coming soon, so hope that’s ok with you. :)
Tough week. I hope this week is better.
Oh that sounded like a awful week. Hope next week is much better.

Oh, that’s no fun being sick! Mine was healthier although slightly eventful dealing with my computer issues!
I live your “week in review”! A great way to look at the big picture and plan for the coming week. The snow had the same effect on us – it was great! I hope you all feel better soon and are able to catch up on sleep.
