Setting Monthly Goals for October 2023

Monthly goals for October 2023. Every month I set a few reachable goals as a way to staying motivated and focusing on what I want to accomplish.

The fall leaves are out and it’s time to set another month’s worth of goals! Autumn is my favorite time of year, so I’m looking forward to this month.

How did September Go?

What You'll Find on This Page

How did I do with my September goals? I published a fantastic guest post on DIY natural dye for clothing. This is very cool kitchen science, and you should already have most of the materials in your home.

We also built and reviewed this detective themed miniature house kit. The end result is pretty cool, but the process was more involved than I expected. Definitely read our review before ordering one!

Last but not least, I updated a bunch of old Halloween themed posts.

My kids were so tiny and adorable. They are still adorable, but they don’t necessarily appreciate my calling them that. And they aren’t tiny any more!

I actually made great progress on decluttering, but there is more to do (isn’t there always!)

I made time for music most days. I even bought a fiddling book and pulled out my rarely used violin. My 11-year-old came home one day and asked, “Mom, why are you playing your violin?! I thought that was only for Christmas.” She’s not wrong, but it’s been fun to play a little bit more.

What else is going on? I started a quilting project, but it’s on the back burner because I’m hoping to make Molly Weasley’s sweater in time for Halloween. I’m using this crochet pattern for the sleeves, and planning to attach them to this vest.

Setting Monthly Goals for October 2023

Monthly Goals for October 2023

I’m flying back to the UK in October to go to my baby brother’s wedding. Since that’s nearly a full week out of the month, goals are simple (honestly, I usually keep goals simple anyway!)

  • Enjoy my trip! I’m so glad it worked out for me to fly over for this wedding. It will be a very small affair.
  • Crochet those sleeves! I really want to get them done before the end of the month.
  • Keep decluttering. Not very glamorous, but makes a big difference. I like to get the house cleared up as much as possible every fall. The way most people do in the spring.
  • Blog as much as I can. That list of blog posts in progress is just sitting there, waiting to be published.
  • Keep playing music.

  1. Have an amazing trip to the UK for your brother’s wedding! ✈️👰 Crocheting sleeves and decluttering might not be glamorous, but they’re all part of life’s beautiful tapestry. Can’t wait for your upcoming blog posts

  2. Enjoy your trip to the UK! I hope the family survives a week without you :) October is a stressful time here because of uncertainty with my job. Hopefully, it will all be clear by the end of October or earlier.

  3. That Molly Weasley sweater will be really cool once it’s done.
I feel the same way when I update old posts, the kids were so cute and adorable (like you said, not that they aren’t now, but it’s different, and they don’t like to be told that).
