How Did I Do With April Goals
What You'll Find on This Page
April was a pretty good month in my house! I enjoyed spring break with my kids, even though (and I think this is inevitable, sometimes) we were sick. We had originally had plans to travel, and since everyone was sick I wound up feeling grateful that we had canceled those plans.
My 17yo spent spring break recovering from getting his wisdom teeth pulled. Thankfully that also went well!
I sewed less than I would have liked, but I did make the bags I had planned to sew for the charity project, and I made it to a sew day where we sewed pillow cases for another charity project. That was fun! I always wonder about “craft for a cause” projects, but both of these seem to have actual merit.
It was a light blogging month (again), but I love this interview with Lita Judge that I published. I’ve always loved her books, and her newest book may be my favorite even though it’s not the magical escape that some of her books are.
It was also a pretty light music month, but I enjoyed some music time and that is what matters.
I did finally get a proper photo of the quilt I finished in March that I mentioned in last month’s goals post. It’s the largest quilt I’ve sewn sew far, and I love how it turned out!

This quilt was made following this free pattern and tutorial (I did add the border). I love how it turned out!

My Monthly Goals for May 2025
I’m a little late with May goals, because I spent the first little bit flying out for my cousin’s wedding, which was a lovely goal to have! Here are the rest of my goals for this month:
- Support my kids through the last month of school, including AP exams. Finals are in June for my high schoolers, and then we are done! My 10th grader and 7th graders plan to switch back to homeschooling next year, and I’m excited about that. My 11th grader has always enjoyed public school, so he’ll stay there for his senior year.
- Blog. I have another author interview post, plus other posts that I hope to publish this month.
- Finish sewing the two bags I started earlier this year.
- Keep playing music.
What are you hoping to accomplish this month?

Oh man, getting wisdom teeth removed over spring break is no fun. But I’m glad you were able to have some fun over spring break and that you had a good time together with the charity sewing projects (I have the same mixed feelings on those charity sewing projects).
Definitely not a fun way to spend spring break for him! I was relieved that recovery for him went really smoothly with no issues, at least.
You are so busy!
It hasn’t left a lot of time for blogging, for sure!
