Setting Monthly Goals for June 2025

Every month, I set a few simple attainable goals to add focus to my life. Here are my monthly goals for June 2025.

How Did I Do With May Goals

What You'll Find on This Page

May went pretty well as far as goals go, although I got less blogging than I wanted done. I loved interviewing writing education expert Julie Bogart, and I did at least get that blog post published. I even uploaded the interview transcript for people (like me) who often prefer reading over watching or listening.

May was a good month for sewing! I accomplished my goal of finishing two work-in-progress bags. First, this one that I started last fall:

Bag sewn using a Sallie Tomato Gwen pattern and kit

This bag was made using the Sallie Tomato Gwen pattern; I also bought a kit for this project from their site.

Next, I completed this bag, which is the Carrie Sallie Tomato pattern:

bag sewn using the Sallie Tomato Carrie pattern and fabric from FabMo

For this second bag, I used fabric I found at FabMo, a very cool local non-profit that offers small quantities of designer materials (usually swatches) at very low prices (sometimes free!) to local crafters.

I also made this English paper pieced, Dresden style clock:

Alice Carolyn English paper pieced Dresden plate clock.

I love the way it looks. Unfortunately, it doesn’t keep time well. I think I’ll look for another clock kit to swap out for the one that came with the kit I bought from Alice Caroline.

I played some music; not as much as I would have liked, but a decent amount.

My kids made it through May, and they are very excited to be done with school at the end of this week.

Monthly Goals for June 2025

Flowers for June goals

My oldest is done with her first year of college and home for the summer (interning for a local start up, as one does in Silicon Valley). It’s fun to have everyone home for a bit, even if we aren’t all together for the entire summer (Mike is in Greece as I type, although he was here at the beginning of the week).

Here are the rest of my goals for June:

  • Celebrate the end of the school year! We are all very excited about summer vacation.
  • Get some blogging done.
  • Work on organizing the house. This is an ongoing thing that I do a bit of year round, of course, but it’s time to focus on it again.
  • Enjoy a road trip with Lily and Anna. I’m going to a conference for work. It’s in Seattle where my brother lives, so we’ll stay with him and they’ll get some cousin time in while I’m at the conference! I’ll still get to see my brother and his family in the evenings, and for a day or two before the conference begins. We’ll also visit some of Mike’s relatives on our way up.
  • Keep sewing and playing music.

Mike is taking our two oldest kids (and a bunch of students) to Argentina this month. The trip was too fast-paced for my younger kids to keep up, so I’ll have some extra time with just the two of them this month.

What are you hoping to accomplish this month?

  1. An internship is very cool. That is a very busy summer for your family.
I’m continuing to work on getting our house all organized, it’s slow going, and I’ve finally figured out how I want to balance my life for the week, but it’s then keeping that balance.
