Setting Monthly Goals for June 2023

Monthly goals for June 2023. Every month I set a few reachable goals as a way to staying motivated and focusing on what I want to accomplish.

How Did May Go?

May sped by in a rush of end of school year activities, including 5th and 8th grade graduations for my two youngest children. I still can’t believe that I won’t have an elementary school aged child this fall.

Considering the busy-ness of the month, I did all right with my May Goals.

Make It to the End of the School Year

This is not really a goal, because – one way or another – we’ll finish out the school year. But we made it, and having the goal reminded me that we were nearly there!

Finalize Summer Travel Plans

I finished planning out one direction of our road trip, but I’m still working out details for the other direction. Last fall my children got to see a lot of the UK; this summer I’m excited to introduce them to a couple of United States landmarks they haven’t visited before.

Craft

I sewed a summer bag this month that I’m loving as a library tote. I’ll probably bring it on my road trip as well. I also started a new project, but didn’t get very far on it. Maybe I’ll get more done in June…

Blogging

Blogging wasn’t technically a goal last month; I guess a part of my brain realized how intense the month was going to be. I did publish a post on how to plan a DIY summer camp at home. This is something my family has really enjoyed over the years!

I also wrote a post on why reading aloud to older kids matters and how to make it fun over at Great Family Reads. This is something my parents did for me growing up that I really loved, and I’m happy to say I’ve been able to continue the tradition.

Music

As with last month, nothing exciting to report here, but I kept playing and practicing and that’s my main focus right now.

Decluttering and Organizing

Sadly, I didn’t keep up my decluttering energy in May although I did get some work done here. I’m paying my 17-year-old to pick up some of the slack now that she’s done with school work for her junior year. We’re both happy with the arrangement!

My Monthly Goals for June 2023

Here are my goals for June:

  • Enjoy a trip out to Florida to visit my parents. I don’t get to do this very often, and I’m really looking forward to it! I’ll bring the three younger kids and one of my nieces along.
  • Keep crafting and enjoying music.
  • Finalize my road trip plans – for real, this time!
  • Enjoy a visit from friends from grad school. They will be staying with us with their four children.
  • Enjoy summer vacation with my children.

That’s it for this month for me.

What are you hoping to get done this month? Is there anything you are looking forward to?

  1. I feel you on making it to the end of the school year. I’m feeling like if I can survive through June I’ll be doing good.
The pictures are gorgeous, I’m jealous of the flowers you found.
Cross-country road trips are so much fun! I can’t wait to hear about yours after July.

    1. There are the prettiest flowers in my neighborhood. Some really talented gardeners!

I love road trips, even though they are tiring and a lot of work. They make for amazing memories.
