Setting Monthly Goals for July 2026

Every month I set a few simple goals to add focus to my life. Here are my monthly goals for July 2026.

How was June 2026?

The highlight of June for me was my son’s high school graduation followed by a visit to see my sister in Connecticut. The Connecticut wasn’t even planned when I wrote my June goals, but it was a wonderful week and something I really needed. I even got a lot of school work and work work done while I was there, while also feeling very rested and refreshed by the trip.

June Crafting

A very fun June project was helping 13-year-old Anna to sew this doll (pattern from the My Rag Doll book; she has made two dolls from this book now. The instructions aren’t the easiest to follow, but the dolls and clothes are very cute). Anna sewed the doll to send to her cousin, who loved it.

I made some crafting progress of my own on this Jane Austen cross stitch kit that I picked up while visiting the Jane Austen Centre in Bath in 2022. Five years later I am getting close to done… I love the way the black outline really brings it all together.

We really enjoyed seeing Emma (briefly). Lily wound up not needing my help with crochet. She’s turned into quite the professional crafter, which is fun!

Life is pretty hectic right now, but I did find some time for music, too.

1 Second a Day for June

This year I’ve been using the 1 Second a Day app to create mini videos for each month. This was June:

Here are my monthly goals for July 2026:

  • Finish up my summer classes – hopefully! The term doesn’t officially end until early August, but I want to finish early if at all possible.
  • Keep up with work. I have a paper to finish and another project that needs a lot of work.
  • Get Johnny settled in for college. I’m excited to fly him out, and it turns out I have a college friend who lives nearby who I will hopefully also catch up with while out there. A blog friend has a child going to the same school, which is also fun!
  • Figure out a crochet project I’m stuck on.
  • Keep working on my Jane Austen cross stitch kit.

I’m still sorting out some health issues, and divorce stuff is not fun and seemingly never ending, although I know it will end eventually. But, given these two facts of life, I’m keeping goals as simple as possible.

What is July looking like for you? What are you hoping to accomplish this month?
