Setting Monthly Goals for December 2025

Every month I set a few simple goals to add focus to my life. Here are my monthly goals for December 2025.

How Did November Go?

What You'll Find on This Page

There are parts of my life that are really hard right now. Thankfully, there are also good things happening. Johnny was super organized with his college apps, and we loved having Emma home for Thanksgiving. All four kids bring a lot of joy into our home.

I’m making progress on work and school, and the autumn leaves (autumn runs late in California) have been really lovely. Lily and Anna did nearly all of the cooking for Thanksgiving, and their food tasted amazing! I only made the turkey and gravy. I did help a lot with dishes; I’m always happy to do dishes if someone else cooks!

I got a couple of blog posts written thanks to collaborating with friends – having that social motivation makes a big difference. I published this new mini stocking ornament tutorial to go with a roundup of ornament tutorials you can easily sew.

Choosing our Christmas tree

We picked out a lovely tree the day after Thanksgiving. I love Christmas.

English paper pieced star made using Suzanne Campion's pattern

We put this English paper pieced star that I made on top. I started it sometime during the summer of 2024, and finally finished it for Christmas this year! Not a fast project, but I love how it turned out.

My Monthly Goals for December 2025

Christmas is a favorite time of year, and I am especially thankful to have all of the things I love about it this year to help to counterbalance things that are hard. I have pretty simple goals for this month:

  • Celebrate Johnny’s 18th birthday. How do kids grow up so fast? It is an incredible journey to see them become these amazing adults.
  • Enjoy Johnny’s choir concert. He’s sung in the same choir since he was in elementary school. This is his second-to-last-ever concert with them, and I’m feeling a little emotional about that.
  • Make the most of the holiday season, and especially winter break when all of my kids will be home.

Those aren’t really traditional goals, but my life is pretty upside down at the moment so it’s what I’m doing. I’ll still make time for crafts and music as much as I can, and I’ll keep working on school (although I get most of December off – hooray!) and also work. I am looking forward to spending a few days in Florida visiting my parents. I wish they lived closer, but at least airplanes exist so I can visit.

  1. We have autumn leaves here too, and I’m very much enjoying that as well.
I’m sorry things are hard for you right now. Hopefully, they’ll get better soon.
