How Did I Do With July Goals?
What You'll Find on This Page
July was a lovely life for living, but pretty mediocre when it came to accomplishing goals! I spent a week visiting my parents in Florida, and then another week at our family reunion in Georgia. I didn’t even try to work either of those weeks, which felt amazing. August is for catching up…
Seeing my family was amazing, and I had fun celebrating my 45th birthday. Otherwise I didn’t make great progress on my 2025 July goals. I didn’t manage to finish a single brand new post, although I made a little progress in the background. We’re still chasing down medical test for my kid who is having health problems, although I think we are making progress.
I didn’t do any homeschool planning other than grabbing some AP test prep books for Lily. That’s a priority for this week and next week! My girls did re-organize their rooms to make them more homeschool friendly, though!
I enjoyed some sewing, and some music, but less than I would have liked. There just isn’t time for everything.

I love the random, unplanned activities that happen each month. In July, Anna made these genuinely amazing gluten free donuts.
Monthly Goals for August 2025

Here are my goals for August:
- Celebrate Mike, Anna, and Lily’s birthdays – half of my family has birthdays within four days. It’s always a fun and busy time of year!
- Help Johnny settle into his senior year of high school. He’s pretty organized, so this is not much work for him.
- Send Emma back to college. She loved her summer internship this year, and they loved her so much that they offered her a part time job during the school year. She is thrilled!
- Settle into a new homeschool year with Lily and Anna. We are all looking forward to this.
- Enjoy a visit from a good friend from high school – they will be staying here with their 7 kids, so we will have a very full house for a few days!
- Celebrate my sister’s wedding <3
That’s probably more than enough to keep me busy. I still have my research job, blogging I want to get done, music and sewing, and all of the regular family stuff going on. I’m also trying out a library science degree program, because that’s an idea that’s been sitting in my brain for the past quarter of a century. We’ll see if I actually enjoy it.

I’m so late reading this!
A library science degree would be so much fun!
It’s so weird to think about Johnny being a senior.
Hopefully, you’ll get health answers for your kiddo soon; that is always stressful to need answers.
Can you share the recipe for the gluten-free donuts? My daughter’s boyfriend is gluten free so I’m always collection recipes to cook for him. ty!
