Setting Goals Month by Month: May 2013

climbing-trees

We don’t have any great climbing trees in our yard, but Johnny found a way around that! We enjoyed a few days of warm weather before heading to Florida, where we had some truly warm weather – so we did a great job of meeting our April goal of spending time outside! Anna even decided that grass is okay:

We got our garden set up, but didn’t do any actual gardening because of our (last-minute thanks to finding an awesome deal on tickets) Florida trip, so that is one goal for May! We did spend a lot of time outside (on a beautiful Florida beach!!!), and Mike got some great landscaping and indoor house work done in our absence! We made great progress on decluttering, and the kids and I really enjoyed our time in Florida – and their time off school before we left.

Goals for May:

  • Get unpacked (we are flying home today!) Focus area: simplicity, and responsibility
  • Spend lots of time outside. Focus area: gratitude, simplicity, and education.
  • Spend lots of time together as a family. Focus area: gratitude

I know I promised you news a while ago. It’s coming. Just not yet. :)

  1. I love that photo of Johnny & I can’t wait to read about your Florida trip!

  2. How cool that you got to travel again. You are pretty fearless flying with all the kiddos. Sorry I’ve been so MIA, work has been brutal in April!

    1. Flying went better than I thought it would – thankfully! Luckily the three older kids are pretty grown-up now (in that they understand what is going on), and Anna is a mellow baby.

I hope work calms down for you, soon!!!

I’m in the southeast portion of the state. However, we make routine visits to Disney a few times a month. :) I love making excuses to go there and what better excuse than to meet bloggy buddies?!?

    1. I have a brother who lives about an hour out of Orlando, so I’ll let you know if we make it out to visit him sometime!

Fabulous photos of Johnny between the trees and Anna enjoying grass!!

I need to set my goals…

You were in Florida!? Next time let me know. I love meeting up bloggy friends! Hope you guys enjoyed your trip here.

  6. I need to sit down and set specific goals, and then actually do them….. That’s the problem I don’t always follow up with actually doing them.

  7. Sounds like Florida has been great! How long were you there? Seems like it’s been a nice long vacation.

  8. There is a wonderful pine climbing tree at the Minute Man National Historical Park visitor’s center. It’s right behind the bench seating between the center and the pond. It’s a great place for a picnic in part because of the climbing tree, the field, a pond and restrooms.

  9. You had a long getaway! It sounded like a lot of fun. Hope the weather is good for you in May. Outside play helps us maintain our sanity (it’s hard to be cooped up in a small apartment with an active almost 4 yr old). We’re ending April with a streak of 90 deg days, which is hot for the Bay Area, but our cucumbers are loving it!
