St. Patrick’s Day is a playful activity for kids, and a wonderful to welcome in spring as a class or family.
Over the years we’ve made leprechaun traps and read St. Patrick’s Day picture books. We’ve made a rainbow of play dough and rainbow water. There are so many fun ways to celebrate!
But sometimes you need a quick activity, and that’s where these St. Patrick’s Day coloring pages come in.

You Don’t Have to Color the Shamrocks!
There’s nothing wrong with coloring a coloring page, although my 6-year-old prefers to paint them. But remember, you don’t have to color a coloring page! Try using tissue paper squares, cotton wool, gold coins, and other accessories to make your St. Patrick’s Day pictures really pop!
You can also use all those different colors of play dough to create a more three dimensional picture.
Create a Shamrock Scavenger Hunt
This year we printed out a Shamrock coloring page on green paper, cut out the shamrocks, and hung it in our window. We sent it on to our neighbors, and soon our entire neighborhood was a four leaf clover hunt!

Follow Up with a Hands-On St Patrick’s Day Activity
I like to plan a more involved activity after a quiet one like this. This is the perfect time to plant those shamrock gardens, or set up a leprechaun trap!
Other active St. Patrick’s Day activities include pretending to be leprechauns and hunting for gold coins. How do you think leprechauns move?
You can even use a gold coin to play hop scotch instead of a rock for a themed classic game.
