Right now my kids are really into playing Blue’s Clues, so when Emma suggested that they play Blue’s Clues to figure out what game I thought they should play, I agreed that she had a fantastic idea.
Emma drew the paw prints, then the kids went to their room while I placed them on the clues. One went on the pattern blocks, one on a play dough rolling pin, and one on the play dough container. As soon as the kids came out, I knew I should have put it on the table instead of on the play dough, but I guess that’s a lesson to learn for next time!
All three kids found the clues, and Emma and Johnny carefully recorded each clue in their notebooks:
And, after a little thinking on the sofa (their “Thinking Chair”), they figured out that I was suggesting that they play with play dough and pattern blocks – my favorite play dough plus toy combination!

Aww, we love Blue’s Clues here. This is a fun idea! I should mention it to my kids.
What a great idea! My daughter runs around with her “handy dandy notebook” and pencil looking for clues, but DUH!!, I hadn’t thought of LEAVING her any clues! I’ll get right on that! :>)
Sunnyboy loves Blues Clues too, we must try this game! That’s a great idea with the playdough also. Thanks for all the inspiration! :)
Their Blue’s Clues game sounds like fun. Again, they are so creative and imaginative. Emma is such a great big sister!
Emma had a very good idea! Looks like fun! Kerri
Love it!! My 3 year old is obsessed with Dora and Blue’s Clues and we draw in our Handy Dandy notebook during the show but I think we’ll have to step up our game and do this one at home too!!
thank you for such a fun idea : )
Fondly,

Fantastic!! Emily and I used to play Blue’s Clues too — I bet she would love to do this again!
What an awesome idea. We love Blue Clues – both the show and the books. Very creative to come up with your own Blue Clues game.
Looks like a lot of fun! I like your “Blues Clues” idea. I might have to try that with my kids.
Oh how fun! My daughters still enjoy Blue’s Clues. I’ll have to try this for them.
I think we have some pattern blocks like that… I’ll have to get them out and try this combination! Great indoor fun!!
Cute! I remember when Abby was into Blue’s Clues. There were paw prints all over the house.
Ok, I must be a horrible mom. My girls have never seen Blue’s Clues! Maybe I’ll look it up on On Demand today.
And I love the playdough, pattern blocks idea. Nani’s home from school today – snow day – so this might be a good project!
What an awesome idea! I love how they thought of everything from their notebooks to the thinking chair.
I loved Blue’s Clues, it was such a fun concept for a show. What a fun activity to play.
