This week my kids enjoyed reading a cute book series we were sent to review, featuring an American dog named Hudson who lives in France. We received two books in the series: Paris-Chien* (chien is French for dog) and Hudson in Provence*. I was attracted to the series because I spent part of my childhood as an American living in France, and I can definitely relate to some of Hudson’s experiences even if he is a dog and I am a human. :) The book’s illustrations are lovely, and Hudson the dog is adorable. Paris-Chien offers a great introduction to what it is like to move to a new and different place. Hudson in Provence is more about finding yourself – what you care about and what you are good at, rather than comparing yourself to others. Here is a book trailer for Hudson in Provence:

What a lovely and interesting concept…an American dog living in France! I love it!
I love this book too! The illustrations and story are so charming!
It is a very sweet book!
Love the art, all things French, and travelling through books so will definitely be looking for these!
I think you would really enjoy them!
My kids adore reading about Anatole’s adventures in Paris, and I think they would love Hudson’s adventures, too!
The Anatole books are wonderful! And I do think you would enjoy these.
These books sound lovely!
We really enjoyed both of them. The dog makes a great protagonist for the story.
It looks like a wonderful book series, I love the illustrations.
The illustrations really won me over. She has a bunch of illustrations on her blog, too – you should check them out.
