Owie doll birthday party

throwing a birthday party for Johnny's owie doll
Johnny was having a rough morning, and Emma decided we should cheer him up by throwing a birthday party for his owie doll! We made simple party hats by taping sheets of construction paper into cone shapes and putting foam stickers on the front. I was going to decorate the whole thing with stickers, but minimalist Emma decided they should just have each child’s first initial. They do look nice that way. =)

We cut out some simple shapes to make plates, green cake (can you guess Johnny’s favorite color?), and glasses. It kept all three kids busy for a while – and, best of all, pulled Johnny into a much happier mood. Thank you, Emma!

What a great idea, and beautifully executed! So glad it worked, too! :)

  3. Emma is so thoughtful to think of this great idea to help cheer her brother up. What fun to plan and make decorations for the party.
