This week we got to enjoy a visit from Grandma! She and Anna became fast friends – they are both laughing at Johnny’s antics in this picture, I think.
A snow day gave all the kids extra time to play with Grandma – and left our yard looking like a fairy tale.
My beloved Japanese Maple kept its leaves, even through the snow storm!
Anna, Johnny, and Lily all decided that they love the IKEA abacus I bought a couple years ago, finally justifying the purchase (based off of fond childhood memories).
That rug looks dirty no matter how many times I vacuum it.
I’m on the recovery end (I hope) of a nasty throat/sinus thing. Having my mom around to play with the kids was perfect timing. Mike also gave me a break on Saturday by taking the kids on a snow walk in a nearby forest. An unplanned snow walk on the way back from dropping off my mom, which is why Lily is hat-free, glove-free, and boot-free. She still had a blast.
How was your week?
MaryAnne lives is a craft loving educator, musician, photographer, and writer who lives in Silicon Valley with her husband Mike and their four children.
She still looks pretty happy about it though :)
Glad you are feeling better too : ) I just love that picture of baby Anna and grandma!
Me too! It was so nice to have Grandma here for a few days!
How wonderful to have a visit from grandma! Cherished times, I’m sure.
How wonderful that your Mom could visit! We have this abacus too – I realized too late after buying it that it’s not very useful as an abacus for young children because of the way its colors are designed. Now, however, Anna has fun with it.
Anna is getting so strong! And Lily is so cute in her hatless, gloveless, bootless state. Must have been a fun walk!
That photo of Grandma and Anna steals the show, though. What a cute pair!!
Hope you’re feeling completely 100% well soon!!!
I hope you are feeling better. Glad you had a nice visit with your mom!
I’m glad you are feeling better. How exciting that your Mom was able to come in town! We really need some snow here.
I hope you get your snow!
I’m so glad you had a visit from your mom and I’m so sorry you were sick! I hope you are feeling better now! I love Anna’s sweater in the top picture – did you make that? Your yard is absolutely stunning and makes me long for snow!
The sweater is a hand-me-down from a friend, but it really makes me want to learn how to knit – I love it!
We have that abacus, too and it has provided a lot of entertainment. I think I might see a little resemblance between grandma and Anna!
I think they definitely look like they are related :)
That yellow outfit is precious. Emry had a similar one when she was a baby, it was pink and she looked so adorable in it. I kept it of course :)
Thanks! I love that sweater!
