Today my blog friend Mia and I kicking off an end-of-year celebration by sharing our top five posts of 2014! We start today by sharing our fifth most popular post of the year – which on my blog is Raising Kids Who Get Along: Bringing Home a Younger Sibling, with 20,464 views in 2014! I wrote this post as a follow-up to my also very popular Raising Kids Who Get Along post (which received 16,357 views in 2014), and I am thrilled to say that all four of my kids continue to be very good friends!
Most of the tips in both of these posts I learned from my parents, who successfully raised ten children who get along:
As much work as it had to have been for my parents to raise ten children – while traveling the world, no less – I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it is to have nine adult siblings who are your friends. My brothers and sisters are incredible resources about all sorts of topics, from music to psychology to statistics to parenting. My siblings push me to be a better wife, mother, sister, and friend, and they often provide the support I need to make it happen. I am convinced that there is no greater gift parents can give their children than the friendship of their brothers and sisters.

Are you a blogger? What was your fifth most popular post in 2014? If you don’t blog, is there a parenting or science post that really caught your eye this year? I would love to see links in the comments!

It’s really inspirational how well you and your sibliings get along and use Google Plus hangouts to stay close. And now you are making sure your own kids get along which is so wonderful. Thanks for sharing your advice. It’s not easy to keep this bond strong!
It’s not easy, but very much worth the effort!
I love that picture of you and all your siblings! I’m feeling too lazy right now to look and see which is my fifth post, isn’t that sad? I’ve got it all collected together though.
Thank you! I love that photo of the ten of us.
Hi MaryAnne, Love your site. I just found you through Pinterest. I’m actually in the process of writing a post on this topic and didn’t want to write on what has already been covered. This is a really important aspect to my parenting and like you I am so grateful that I have really good relationships with my three siblings…. nothing in this world can replace that!
My most popular post is The Art of Saying Thank You…. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.

Love that picture of all ten of you! Wow! :) Your family and extended family is such an inspiration to me!
My fifth most popular post was my explanation of why we converted to Catholicism: “as if”
That post of yours read as very heart-felt, and I am sure that is part of why it attracted so many readers.
What a fantastic number of views! It’s nice to know so many people would like to raise children who get along :)
My 5th most popular post was http://almostunschoolers.blogspot.com/2014/02/half-square-triangle-quilt-puzzle-math.html
That post is incredible! It’s easy to see why it is so popular.
