Month in Review and May Goals

Lily

April was a nice month in our house. Lily and I were sick for a week or so, but everyone else stayed healthy. We all enjoyed several days of beautiful weather, visits to the children’s and science discovery museums, leisurely walks around the neighborhood, more sewing than I had expected to accomplish, and fun play dates with friends. Johnny carried his tiny plastic dinosaurs EVERYWHERE (and never lost one!), Lily smiled and chattered away (so long as I held her), and Emma drew and crafted for hours on end. I sent off our pay it forward packages and packed for our trip – hopefully without forgetting anything critical! I’m proud of fitting everything into two suitcases. We simplified the trip by buying diapers online (we’re going with disposables for the trip) and shipping them to my mother-in-law’s house. We also splurged and sent car seats to her house – we will be visiting again, and lugging three car seats and luggage  (not to mention three children) through the airport did not sound like fun. We packed sticker books and a couple of toys for the kids, but we are mostly counting on them sleeping on the way to Vegas since it’s an evening flight. I’m bringing our single stroller as well as our Mei Tai (from etsy – affiliate link) and Ergo carriers so that we can haul three sleeping children through the airport if necessary.

I’m keeping May goals simple:

  • Enjoy time with family and friends. Target Areas: Gratitude and Charity
  • Keep the kids as happy as possible for our flights and road trips. Target Areas: Health, Peace, and Education

Any last bits of travel advice? How do you hope to spend the month of May?

  1. Wow, that sounds like a great month! I’m still recovering from moving, and haven’t properly established enough routines to keep everything running smoothly. Also, not having a dishwasher is still a challenge.

  2. I cannot believe you managed to get all that you packed into TWO suitcases!!!! You are so organized and sound like you have packed thoughtfully and planned well for your trip. I hope you enjoy it and have a very good time with your friends and family.

Sorry, no travel advice from me. We have never been on any long trips such as the one you are making.

We plan to spend May schooling and celebrating LOTS of family birthdays–mine and Joe’s included. Should be a busy, but very fun month!
