Having Mike gone for work for only ONE day out of February was a big highlight for us this month – the first time that has happened in a LONG time! I also enjoyed extra time with the kids during their school vacation week!
We did so many fun things in February! I think our sensory wall mosaic art was my favorite (still hanging in our dining room and being played with daily!), but creating giant pattern block scenes on contact paper on the floor was fun, too. I see repeats of both activities in our future, many times over! Emma discovered a fun symmetry art technique, and all three kids have enjoyed decorating – and redecorating – their color-me heart friends that we made for Valentine’s Day! The biggest February event was celebrating Emma’s SIXTH(!) birthday, complete with fun cupcake decorating with friends.
Another fun February event? Seeing an adaptation of our no mess color mixing post from Our Feminist {Play} School! I especially love the inclusion of water beads – what an awesome sensory experience!!!
I kept my February goals simple, and I am SO glad!!! Someone was sick nearly every day all month – I’m headed to the doctor with Emma this morning! We truly enjoyed Emma’s birthday party, and our February break. And the kids enjoyed making valentines, even when Emma had to redo hers without names on them!
Are you setting goals for March? I hope to:
- Spend lots of time outside! We didn’t do this nearly as much as we should have in February. Target Areas: health, peace, and education
- Celebrate birthdays with my siblings (both my brother and sister who live locally have March birthdays) – and hopefully have my kids healthy enough to meet their newest cousin! Target Areas: gratitude
- Make a catch-up photo book so that we have at least some of Lily’s life documented on paper! We buy photo books through Winkflash when they have their flat-rate sales (same price for up to 100 pages!), and there’s one going on right now! Good thing, because my last photobook ended in July of 2009! Target Areas: gratitude
- Make the most out of my first-ever blog conference!!! I’m going to Blog Better Boston, and I’m especially looking forward to their photo editing workshop! Target Areas: education
With any luck, we’ll also find out if we’re having a baby girl or boy THIS FRIDAY!!! I’m a little excited about that, can’t you tell?
So, what do you think, are we having a girl, or a boy?
And are you setting goals for March? If so, I’d love for you to link up!

Love the picture. Sorry that kiddos were sick so often. I hope March will be a better month health-wise, and I want to hear all about blog conference.
How did Emma’s appointment go? I’d have to see a pic of your belly to guess what you are having. My first thought is boy, though.
The appointment didn’t go well – we’re switching back to our old pediatrician! But Emma is doing better.
I should post a belly photo, one of these days… Boy is definitely the popular guess!
Oh my goodness, that’s terrible about the doctor!
We were trying to switch to a closer Dr but the new one would only talk to me, and I need someone who can communicate with my kids a well. So back to driving longer distances for appointments!
Hope Emma feels better soon and that you enjoy a much healthier March!
I was going to post March goals, but that’s just not happening right now. Can’t wait to hear whether you’re carrying a boy or a girl, and also what you learn at the blogging conference! Exciting!!!
Emma seems to be doing better now, and we all got outside this afternoon – two great things in one day!
How awesome that he only worked one day! Can’t wait to find out what you’re having!
Oh, can’t wait to hear the big boy or girl news!!! :) So exciting!
What a sweet photo of daddy & his lil girl. My girls adore time with their dad so that extra time with him throughout the month with all of you must have been fabulous!
We need to get outside more, too. I had told myself we would do lots outside this winter (sledding, skating etc) and then we’ve barely had any snow! I’m going to guess you’re having a girl! (I didn’t find out with Parker ahead of time, but my husband did!)
Awwww, such a sweet picture. I love all of your crafts, your kids are so, so lucky. I think boy, but I am usually wrong.
Oh, and you might want to remind people GFC is disappearing off your blog so we all know to come follow you some other way.
Thanks for the reminder!
How cool to go to a blogging conference. I’m jealous!
I need to start making albums for the kids again, at least something as simple as upload and let them put it in.
I’m super excited about the conference!!! It was awesome to find a local one that was also affordable =)
I love Lily’s kisses. :-)
She loves her dad!
