Lily Turns Five!

Five years ago today we welcomed Lily to our family! From the very beginning, Lily was an incredibly cuddly and affectionate child. I think you can even see it in this photo!

Out of my four kids, Lily’s birth was the most difficult, and poorly managed by hospital personnel. But that’s a story for another time; I’m sticking to my “I get seven years to write up birth stories” tradition. I came home to a sick toddler and a sick preschooler, who had started throwing up when I went to the hospital and who stayed sick (stomach bug turned into respiratory issues, including an ER visit for Johnny) for the next six weeks. Add on that Mike was traveling a lot for work at that time, and it was a rough start to parenting three kids! Lily was a bright, happy, and miraculously healthy light during a tough time.

Lily is a gentle soul who loves to look after both her dolls and any real live babies she comes in contact with. In the photo below she is welcoming little Anna to the world!

Lily was my earliest talker, and she loves to tell stories. Even with her chatter, there is a lot going on in her head that I want to know more about! Lily is always thinking, and I love getting insights into her world.

Lily has always loved dressing up in beautiful dresses, and so far I see no sign of that changing! She also adores sparkly shoes. She gives out hugs freely, and is very generous with her siblings. She is very conscientious about doing the right thing and making good choices. She has very strong relationships with all three of her siblings, and I love watching how she interacts with each one.
