My kids love exploring the great outdoors with this big magnifying glass I got from Lakeshore Learning! I tracked it down after seeing it on Ticia’s blog, and I’m so glad I did! I don’t see it for sale there right now, for some reason…
Johnny (4 years old) and Lily (2 years old) spent about an hour walking around outside, exploring dirt, plants, concrete, cracks in concrete, a broken rubber band, and their own hands!
Do your kids play with magnifying glasses? Is it warm enough to play outside for hours on end? It’s cold here again this week, but last week was amazing!!! I hope you’ll link up your fun and creative learning – indoors and out! Text links or button links back are much appreciated :)
Last week I loved this idea of an animal scavenger hunt using old lotto cards at sunnydaytodaymama, I think these spring/Easter-themed marshmallow sculptures from B. Inspired, Mama! are adorable, and you have to check out this amazing jet plane photo from Doodles and Jots!

Thanks for linking up last week! Sorry it took me so long to get here but after I posted last week, I got severely ill.
Oh no! I hope you are feeling better?
Simple science. It’s fun, yet they learn so much (which is what learning should be like ALL the time)!!!
Exactly!!! :)
That is an AWESOME magnifying glass!!!!
super duper fun!!!
That is a really cool magnifying glass! I’m sure my kids would love to explore with one like that!
Oh,I love your big magnifying glass! We have a smaller one that we often take on our walks. It’s a fun way to get the kids to slow down and take a closer look at stuff. We sometimes take a tape measure too.
We love magnifying glasses! Everything is way more fun and interesting with one in hand. Haha.
The magnifying glass brings lots of smiles around here.
I just added my link, but put my name in the wrong spot…oops! Instead of Tara, it should be Jelly Bean Math :)
Should be fixed now :)
Oh, I love that magnifying glass! I wish it was for sale right now. I would definitely buy it :)
My dad has a really big one and since I am headed over there soon I should borrow it. It’s amazing what comes to life under those things!
Oh, that looks like fun! Think my little guy is about the age where he would love a magnifying glass.
This magnifying glass looks awesome. We have magnifying glasses, of course, but not as fancy. Unfortunately, it’s been pretty rainy this weekend, but we got out for an hour of walking in the neighborhood yesterday, and it was good for all of us.
That’s a great magnifying glass! I wish we had a Lakeshore store here, so I didn’t have to pay shipping. Some day, I will go to one. And by some day, I mean I will probably need a full day to hang out there. LOL!
Love the pictures, especially the first one. Those two are getting to be quite a team! And this post inspires me to go hunting for our magnifying glass…
They are best friends – I love it!!!
Wow!!! Thanks for much for the mention – yay : )
Love that magnifying glass – looks easier for kids to use because they don’t have to worry about it. Great ideas!
It looks a really great magnifying glass! :)
We all love it :)
Thanks for sharing this with the spring carnival! :) I featured it here: http://sunnydaytodaymama.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/all-year-round-week-nine-7-spring.html
Thank you! :)
Now that looks like fun. My kids don’t have a magnifying glass but I bet they would love exploring outside with one.
OMGosh – I want one of those magnifiers so bad! My kids would explore with that for hours. Thanks for mentioning my Marshmallow Sculptures. :)
It’s so sad, I can’t find ours right now, and I don’t think they make them anymore. WAAAAAHHHHH!
My kids love to be outside.
I was so sad to visit their website and not find it there anymore! Wonder why they quit making it?
I love that giant magnifying glass. The learning just comes naturally to your kids! So cute!
I love my little scientists! Great pictures!
