Gingerbread Kids

Emma waiting to be traced

My kids really enjoyed turning themselves into gingerbread kids with this activity! Each kid lay down to get traced on our drawing paper…

Decorating their

And then they decorated with crayons and foam stickers…

And hung up their artwork in the dining room! Emma drew faces on Lily and Johnny’s people once they were hung up – blank faces really irk her!

Since we used white paper, they don’t really look like gingerbread at all, but the kids still call them that!

    LURVE.

I bet brown packing paper / butcher paper would making them look more like gingerbread men if you wanted to go for that. We have some so I think we’ll try it!

    Oh, and glue on buttons!

I’m getting really excited about this idea.

  2. @Elisa – Yes, Johnny is much less of a minimalist. And a big fan of order =)

@Natalie – Lily is all about being a big kid these days – except when she’s tired or sick, then she’s all baby =)

And I LOVE when my girls will let me put their hair in pigtails!

  3. They look so very cute – especially that little gingerbread with pigtails. It’s funny how Lily now wants to do everything big siblings get to do.

  4. Soooo cute!! Looks like Johnny is a bit less minimalist than Emma. From what I can see, his decorations are amazingly thorough and evenly spaced. It’s so great to see their personalities emerge through art.
