First birthday idea

My son’s first birthday is coming up, and I was thinking that it might be fun to ask some friends and relatives to write their first impression of him (from when they first met him as an infant). Obviously it isn’t something he would appreciate at this point, but I thought it could be fun for him to see in the future – I know little kids often like to hear stories about when they were babies.

Has anyone done something like this before? Would you mind writing a sentence or two for a friend or relative for something like this?

  1. I know this post is from a year ago, but I hope that you did it!
For our first son’s first birthday (and then the second’s this year) we gave a sheet of paper and asked people to write him a letter (or they could use their own paper).
DH and I put them away for him, but could not resist reading them a few months after his second birthday – it was so special to us, especially the letter from my husband’s grandfather who had passed away since then.

  2. It sounds like a good birthday idea to me. If you compiled them you might want to include some pictures of him with each person (if you have them).
