Playing in the leaves is the classic way to enjoy active family fun in Autumn! It’s hard to beat the fun and the workout you get by raking and playing in colorful fall leaves, but this isn’t the only thing my family enjoys in the fall! Here are a few other ways we enjoy spending time together every autumn:
- Neighborhood leaf hunts.
- Pressing the leaves we find in books and then laminating each leaf so we can enjoy it all year round.
- Putting together slow cooker meals (we love this slow cooker turkey soup) so we can spend the afternoon on the playground instead of in the kitchen.
- Baking cookies together.
- Decorating our windows on rainy days.
The leaves changing every year remind me of how quickly time is passing, and so fall becomes a time of year when I am consciously slowing down our days and choosing commitments carefully so that we can make the most of the time we have together as a family. What are your favorite ways to have fun as a family in Autumn.

Yay! I can almost feel the crispness in the air. :)
Oh what fun, I can’t wait for our leaves to start falling! Hopefully by the end of the month!
There’s definitely so many things to love about Fall. I love the leaves changing and the coolness in the air.
Those sound like fall activities that we enjoy as well! :)
