The best Eric Carle inspired crafts and activities for kids. Learn through play with these fun ideas!

My four-year-old has been busy all week making paper figurines from different Eric Carle stories thanks to this new Press Out and Play Eric Carle book that we were sent to review. The book is beautifully and cleverly put together, with punch-out cardstock pieces that you fasten together. A set of high quality crayons comes with the book, making this a wonderful travel activity for kids.
Anna’s joy over this activity got me thinking about other Eric Carle inspired crafts and activities that we have enjoyed over the years. I decided to pull them together in a single round-up post, so that you can enjoy them as well!

What You'll Find on This Page

The Press Out and Play Eric Carle book is definitely the easiest Eric Carle inspired activity that we have tried, since all the materials are already in one place! These other activities take varying amounts of prep work, but they are well worth trying!
I decided to specify which book accompanies each craft and activity. You may notice that the majority of these crafts are from the ever-popular classic, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. That book is a favorite in our home as well!

LOVE Eric Carle. What a great round up of crafts and books!
He is brilliant.
So fun to see pictures of your daughter’s evident enjoyment! :)
I remember having an Eric Carle inspired stamp set for the kids that went with Rooster Saves the World (or something like that, the title isn’t sounding right). That punch out set does look really cool.
Thank you for including our DIY Puzzle :-)
