School is over for the year in our school district, and to celebrate I took our first day of school photo and last day of school photo and made them into bookmarks for the kids to use while reading all summer long! I think this would make a wonderful teacher gift, too – just use class photos!
DIY Bookmark Gift for Kids or Teachers
These DIY bookmarks are very easy. You can arrange the photos with Photoshop or a free service like Canva. Then print them out and laminate them (or print on cardstock if you do not have a laminator). We have had this laminator (affiliate link; buy it while on sale – it frequently is, including today) for several years now, and it has been great for all sorts of projects!
Do you have a fun DIY bookmark idea to share?

What a great idea! Emma Grace is always saying she needs a bookmark.
Get idea, I might just have to get a laminator and I have plenty of time to do it since our last day of school isn’t until June 30th!
What a good way to remember and save the First Day Last Day school photos! I am bad at taking them so this would be good for me!
This is a great idea! How fun to see how your kids have grown during the last school year!
Another favourite DIY bookmark project is one I saw here: http://www.creativefamilymoments.com/awesome-homemade-bookmarks-with-tassels/
Sarah Mackenzie from the Read Aloud Revival also has a set of bookmarks with five questions to ask kids about a book they’ve read rather than, “did you like it?”
Aw such a good idea! I gotta remember this for next year.
I love it! I wish I’d thought of doing this. Of course I usually forget to take those pictures.
I’m pretty sure this is the first year we managed to get photos for both days…
