Emma, Johnny, and Lily Quotes: Out of Ink

Johnny and Lily, playing outside

Emma, after getting a new booster seat:
John, since I got the car seat you can have the box.

Lily, looking at a picture of a prairie dog from our zoo trip:
That’s a turkey pine! [I think she meant porcupine.]

Lily, looking at a picture of a giraffe from the same trip:
Oh! I want to ride on that!

Johnny, talking about an empty toothpaste tube:
This one is out of ink.

  1. Sometime the box is the most fun! At least at our house!

I love that he called toothpaste ink…because at our house it is used for the same thing. My 5 year old loves to draw pictures on the counter with toothpaste…a habit I am not fond of …and trying to help him not do! =)

  2. I like the “turkey pine” a lot! :) I’ve really been enjoying the expressive photos of Lily lately. Did I ever mention we were considering the name “Lili” for Phinia?
Today the kids were going bonkers in the kitchen, teasing Phinia beyond her comfort zone… all this while I was making vegetarian ravioli (completely from scratch, making the flour in our electrical mill) before Robin was to be gone for two days. After having been upset with them and then finally eaten lunch I motivated them to get their play wheel barrows and get in their rain gear to walk to our neighbor (the organic farmer) to each choose a carving pumpkin. We ended up being out for 2 hrs., selecting pumpkins (I have got to send you a pic of the loads of pumpkins!) and watching the turkeys, geese, ducks, cows, gpats, … it was SO GOOD for our wellbeing!

  3. Love the older sister method of distributing the loot. :) Lily would look very cute riding on a giraffe!

  4. So funny! You should see if your zoo lets you feed the giraffes. The zoo we visited on our vacation had that option and it was a huge hit with my girls. (It was also expensive, so thank goodness their godmother paid for it!)
