Donate Blood Now for No More Missing Types
Did you know that one out of every seven people entering the hospital needs a blood transfusion? In the United States, someone needs a transfusion of donated blood every 2 seconds. Blood shortages are much more serious than missing letters in my daughter’s rubber stamp collection! Donating blood is an amazing way to save lives! You can donate blood every 56 days, up to six times a year. One blood donation can be used to help up to three patients! Natural disasters often get us thinking about making blood donations, but they actually don’t usually require large amounts of blood. Blood donations are used for everyday occurrences, like my friend C who lost a lot of blood giving birth to her first child. Thanks to life saving blood donations and three more thankfully uncomplicated deliveries, she is now the very healthy mother of four children!
We Need Blood Donations All Year Round
Blood donations drop about 20% in the summer months, but the need is still there! That’s why I’m writing today’s post, urging you to donate now! Blood centers need the donations to be ready for patients when they are needed. Let’s make sure there are enough As, Bs, ABs, and Os to save all the lives.
