The kids and I enjoyed a nice change of pace during our trip by attending the Free Third Saturday craft at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. My three jetlagged children fell asleep in the car, which at least partially explains their less-than-jovial greeting of the ever-so-much-friendlier Infant Bibliophile (who we met up with, along with his beautiful sister and lovely parents).
My kids were very proud of the “gilt” frames they created by gluing bits of model magic to wooden frames, and covering them in metallic paint. Paint which is, incidentally, now permanently adhered to Lily’s Hello Kitty dress. I didn’t realize the museum had painting shirts on hand until it was too late…
They drew pictures to go into the frame at my Grandma’s house, and then proceeded to rip Lily’s frame apart after insisting that we bring all three pictures home. Children…
We also enjoyed looking at paintings in the museum, but the highlight of the trip for my kids at least was running up and down a museum ramp, which thankfully was not being used by anyone!

It’s really neat that you met Lynn and her children. I didn’t know they are in Utah – not that far away from us ;)
Looks like so much fun! I love it when museum have free events like this!
It was so great to meet you all! The ramp is always a hit. Sorry to hear about the Hello Kitty dress!
