I had a fun sewing project for kids planned for today, but that will post on another day because, although I have pictures, I spent my weekend enjoying having my parents in town instead of writing up a tutorial. They are on a grand retirement tour of children and grandchildren, so we only get to see them for a couple of days, but it’s been a great couple of days! Lily enjoyed playing duets with Grandma, Anna enjoyed reading with Grandpa, and all of the kids love running circles trying to keep Grandpa from catching them – just as I did with my dad’s dad when I was their age.
What after school learning and fun has your family been enjoying? There were lots of great activities linked up last week – here are some of my favorites:
- Easy teepee activity from Raventhreads
- Clothespin Nativity Scene from Christianity Cove
- Pythagorean Theorem activity from Empowering Parents to Teach
Have an activity for elementary-school-aged kids? I hope you will share it in this week’s linky!
The Educators’ Spin On It, Boy Mama Teacher Mama,
Mama Smiles, The Measured Mom, Planet Smarty Pants,
Relentlessly Fun Deceptively Educational, This Reading Mama
Remember that by linking up you give the linky hosts permission to feature your post and to pin it to our After School Activities board on Pinterest. Thank you for sharing your after school learning and fun activities for kids!

Wonderful pictures and memories.
We are blessed because we live close to Grandma & Grandpa. My children spend time with them EVERY week. So happy they have the opportunity to build such a close bond and to learn from their Grandparents.
That is wonderful Jeannine! We do our best, but grandparents on both sides of the family live far away (and they never got to meet Mike’s dad).
So nice to see parents! I am looking forward to when mine will visit us over Thanksgiving week!
I hope you have a wonderful visit with your parents! I really enjoyed this brief visit with mine.
What a blessing! I realize how fortunate I am to have both mine and my husband’s immediate families all here in the same city. No one moved away lol. Nothing so wonderful as spending time with family.
That is really amazing! I’m grateful that we get to see my family at all, as spread out as it is – we are extremely lucky that I have two brothers living in California.
Always the best memories :)
Absolutely.
Having grandparents come visit is always the best.
Grandparents are wonderful!
