Autumn leaves that last all year round

Autumn leaves are so pretty! Did you know that you can save them all year round? Just follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Find some pretty leaves.

Step 2: Press leaves in a heavy book by laying flat inside a folded paper towel.

Step 3: Leave alone for three days (or longer). It’s important for the leaf to be completely dry before you remove it.

Step 4: Remove leaves from book and place on the sticky side of a sheet of contact paper. Add a second sheet of contact paper on top. If you’re lucky enough to own a laminating machine, you can use that instead.

Step 5: Cut leaves apart and enjoy!

We have leaves we saved like this from years ago! The laminator laminated ones do tend to last better than the ones we made using contact paper.

  1. Hi! We love the new place! Just popping by to tell you we added this post to an upcoming one on fall and leaves. Thanks!

  2. I was reading in, I think, Family Fun Magazine and they talked about dipping fall leaves in parafin wax. It preserves them as they are and they look great. Just an added idea for your fall leaves. :)
