This week my kids had a blast testing out the new Tegu Explorer building set, which we received Tuesday in order to participate in their very-fast-paced summer building contest. We used the blocks to spell John, and Lily with a somewhat innovative “Y”:
Emma was not interested in innovative “m”s, so we left it at that.
I was incredibly pleased with my integration of magnetic blocks and paper:
And I would have played with that a lot more, but the kids had other ideas.
They love that the blocks attach in ways that defy gravity, especially since this gravity-defying magnetism allows them to construct pet snakes named Pluggy:
Who live in large, elaborate homes (can you spot Pluggy?”):
And eat less fortunate toys for dinner:
Our creations are up for a vote on the official Tegu blog, and you’ll make our day by voting for us! Voting enters you to win an Endeavor or Explorer Tegu set of your very own! Just go to this blog post anytime between now and July 3rd, and leave a comment with the name of the blog you are voting for (ours, please?), your name, email address, and my website URL in the entry fields.
Disclosure: Each vote we get gives us a chance at winning a Tegu blocks bundle. We were sent a set of Explorer blocks to use for this competition, but they are being sent back to Tegu, as we had them only on loan. I chose to participate because I thought it would be fun for the kids, and I think Tegu is a neat new company.
