Every month I set a few simple goals to add focus to my life. Here are my monthly goals for November 2026.

But First, a Look Back at October
What You'll Find on This Page
October was a nice month! The highlights were family time: visits from both of my college kids, plus two of my sisters! One sister was here for a college reunion. My other sister is a huge BTS fan, so we took her to the SFMoMA RM exhibit. We recommend going even if you aren’t a BTS fan; it’s very well done. I invested in a museum membership a while back, so all of our tickets were free.
It was a busy month for my two kids who are still at home, too. Lily had homecoming, and Anna had a ballet competition. It was so fun to see both of them participate in these activities.

I was very busy with school and work, but I found time to finish up my Jane Austen cross stitch that I started back in 2022! This was my first Bothy Threads kit; it was extremely well designed and put together.

I really love how it turned out. I’ve been reading Jane Austen’s novels with Lily, so the timing was perfect.
With the Jane Austen project done, I returned to this embroidery on denim project from Missouri Star that I have also been slowly working my way through. I’m getting better at French knots!

My niece is living in the area, and she was able to visit twice, including for Halloween. She wanted to learn to sew, and she really took to it! This is the raw edge flannel quilt she is working on; she has made amazing progress in only a few days. Hopefully she can finish it during her remaining before she moves at the end of the month; if not I am sure she will finish after she leaves.

Fall always feels cozy to me, especially with these three:

Setting Goals for November 2026
This is my favorite time of year. I’m keeping goals simple to make time to enjoy the season.
- Enjoy Thanksgiving with Lily and Anna. Emma will be in Europe with a friend, and Johnny only has a couple of days off so he is visiting my sister in Washington, DC. That is a much shorter flight for him, and his first time visiting the capital!
- Continue to keep up with work and school. I have really great projects going on for both, so it is all very engaging. My school term officially ends in early December, but I am really hoping to finish a week early. We’ll see if I pull it off; I did in the spring, and that was lovely.
- Keep sewing. It’s my favorite thinking and processing time activity.
- Continue to play music; it brings me so much joy.
- Enjoy two final visits with my niece, who will be moving away at the end of the month. We’ve all enjoyed having her nearby this past year!
What are you hoping to accomplish this month?
