Winter

snow outside our front window

Want snow?

our house buried in snow

We have plenty!

snow piled up on the side of the driveway

Ice, too – especially on the roof!

We’d love to share with all of you, especially the shoveling!

Lots of fun indoor activities coming up next week! =)

  1. Oh my goodness! This is sooooo much snow! Is is still around everywhere? I have never seen this much snow in my life, not even when I lived in Utah for a couple years!

  2. Oh my gosh! I’m sorry to hear about your guys’ ice dam troubles…more like dam ice troubles. Being a homeowners has its pros and its cons. You seem to have good activities for being stuck in the house, though!

  3. Whoa, thanks, I’ll pass :) Want some sun? Move to CA – we just have a house on sale right next door :)

  4. Forgive my ignorance, but… is this a normal amount of snow for you this time of year? You guys must be so fit with that huge shoveling workout!!

Speaking of indoor activities, I finally started making a flannel board for felt fun! Stage one, as per your wonderful instructions, is complete and drying. I got the supplies in December, so I am hoping to have everything all complete and ready as a “new baby” gift for the older siblings when our little one comes along in June!

    1. @Elisa – Not normal at all. Our neighbor says the last time he saw anything like it was 1996. We have two leaks from all the snow so far, and we need to get more snow off our roof before the rain that’s supposed to show up today. We’re a little worried about what’s going to happen when it all melts, since there isn’t really anywhere for all the water to go!

I’m excited to hear you’ve started your flannel board! I think it will make a fantastic “new baby” gift for your “big kids”! Ours is still intact, more than two years later =)

  5. Ugh, MaryAnne. I commiserate. We have so much snow too. SO MUCH that it’s ridiculous. We always have tons of snow in MN (to the point where Hollywood people make movies about it and laugh at our accents during) but even then this year’s haul is unusual. And we still have March (snowiest month of the year) to look forward to. Yes, the shoveling is awful. My arm has no feeling for hours after. But occasionally our wonderful neighbors come to our rescue with their snow blowers. I am very grateful. Stay warm and let’s set our sights on spring!
