We thoroughly enjoyed getting outside and enjoying some spring weather this week! It wasn’t nearly as warm as our week of unbelievably sunny weather, but beautiful nonetheless!
I love the way Johnny lives outside – he has no qualms about getting dirty to make the most of the outdoors – and he is happiest the days he spends a lot of time in nature!
Emma came outside with us as well, but her big moment this week was a huge reading leap. She finished reading Beezus and Ramona, and was so enthralled with Ramona the Pest that she couldn’t bear to put it down, finishing in a single day! Ramona the Brave doesn’t seem to hold her attention quite as much, or maybe we’ve been busy with creative endeavors!
Besides enjoying spring flowers and the accompanying wildlife (we spotted deer as well as our usual wild turkeys, birds, and squirrels this week), we mastered hard boiled eggs, made a delicious chocolate dessert, crafted Easter scenes, made an Easter book, and talked about circuits. How was your week?

I loved the Beezus and Ramona series. I bought the entire set (along with all the Henry Huggins books) from Scholastic a couple years ago. I actually reread them all last year, since it had been so long!
She is getting so big! I can’t believe she’s reading whole chapter books in a day!
What a week! I love that your daughter loves Beverly Cleary. The Mouse in the Motorcycle series was my favorite when I was little.
I’m so excited for Emma to be reading so well. She has the be the smartest kid in her class!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Cute pictures of the kids!
Sounds like a great week to me. Yay for Emma’s reading taking off!
How exciting for Emma! and I notice Michael is happier if he has more time outdoors, too. He prefers to have one of us with him, though, which means he doesn’t get out as much as he’d like.
Johnny is the same way.
It looks like a great week. It so exciting about your daughter’s reading! Thanks for hosting this week.
Those are beautiful pictures! It looks like you all had a great week. I love to see kids enjoying books like that, also. Yay for Emma!
That’s a HUGE jump when you read a chapter book in a day. I remember starting on that trend…….
Wow! You have quite the reader on your hands! I need to buy Emma some Ramona books or raid my mom’s house and see if she still has my old ones. Such great books!
