I mentioned months ago that I had my eyes on the dinosaur patterns at PlanetJune. I finally caved and bought the stegosaurus pattern to try out, and I’m so glad I did! Isn’t this little guy adorable? I had to photograph him at night, because I finished him just in time to give him as a gift, but he shines even with flash photos!
This pattern was very straightforward and easy to follow. I think his torso is slightly shorter than it was supposed to be – I had an extra plate at the end, and my kids kept playing with my stitch counter. He’s still adorable, though, and I was especially thrilled to try out techniques June has invented (magic ring, invisible decrease, and joining tips) that make amigurumi crochet even cuter.
Now I’m tempted to purchase more dinosaur patterns – but first I have requests for more stegosauruses!
I’m sharing this post at T.N.T. Thursdays at Happy Quilting.

He is so cute! What fun he must be to play with.
The stegosaurus is adorable!! And your yarn choice makes it even better than the original, in my opinion. If my hands weren’t so busy these days, I would seriously think about making one of these now. :) As it is, I’ll have to add it to my future fun-to-do project list.
This stegosaurus is very cute indeed.
Blakie asked Santa (can you believe we saw him yesterday) for a “cuddly toy rainbow puppy”. Troy and I looked at each other when he said this. It was news to us! I will have to see if there are patterns to make dogs and get my mum on board with this one!
You’re right – it is super cute! You know, for the life of me, I can not seem to get the hang of crocheting! I took my daughters to crochet club (which they are still a part of) so I could learn and then help them practice at home. Well, I just couldn’t get the hang of it! LOL! My oldest daughter loves it and looks forward to her weekly club meetings. Can’t wait to show her this!
Anyway, I’m your newest GFC “friend”! I’m new to We Teach and just joined the “We’re Bloggers” group. When you find a moment, I would love for you to do the same. You can find me at http://sofiasideas.com/

Love it! I’m lucky if I can knit a straight row. How hard is it?

OMG, sooo cute!
Awww – he’s super-adorable! Does this stegosaurus have a name?
Well, we gave him away, so it’s up to the recipient =)
That is so cute!
That guy is so awesome!! I will totally have to share that with my sister-in-law who crochets. She will love it!!
It was a lot of fun to make!
Ah! So cute! Love the colors.
Definitely super cute! That recipient is going to be so happy!
oooo! I’m going to have to make one or three of these. I’ve got a nephew and nieces who need to start a dinosaur collection.
This one was very fun to make – the pattern is very well written!
You are so very talented!!!
That is the cutest dinosaur ever!
Adorable! I love the colors – that is what makes him so cute!
I LOVE that yarn – and now I can’t find it for sale anywhere!

Woops forgot the other link for you to see!
Oh so cute! I want to make one! Have you seen my crochet items – I love to crochet when my hubby is watching soccer and I’m boared :) Here are some of the things I created! I can’t read patterns so I make things up as I go along!

Your little dolls are adorable!
He really is cute! I have done quite a bit of amigurumi crochet – it’s fun, isn’t it? If Matthew didn’t already have so many plastic dinosaurs, I’d seriously think about making this. Hm… it would make a great unique gift for a baby, and I do know two baby boys who will be born soon. :)
Thanks for sharing, Maryanne!
I love your cute little stegosaurus!
