I loved being a kid, and one of the highlights of parenthood is reliving childhood with my kids. I love to play silly games with them, and there is something very special about seeing them play with my old toys – in this case, “Yellowy” and “Bluey”, tiny cabbage patch dolls dressed in yellow and blue outfits.
What is your favorite part of being a parent?

I hadn’t thought about this… but I think my favourite part is sharing things they didn’t know, and seeing them get it!
Also, the hugs and smiles!!
It is definitely fun reliving childhood through our kids! I also love playing with all the toys that were popular when I was a kid and also playing games like Candyland and Chutes and Ladders.
Mine is similar to yours. It’s noticing and being awed by all the wonderful little things that I’ve grown accustomed to taking for granted as an adult.
I know what you mean. It’s so sweet and fun.
Abby loves to go in my Mom’s basement to find my old toys. She’s always bringing something home.
I think my favorite part is experiencing this unconditional love for a child and towards a child, and all the cuddles and giggles that come with it.
The minute I hit “publish comment” I realised I did it again – made a typo in my website address. Fixed now, I don’t know why I seem to do this when I leave a comment on your blog – weird.
It must autofill for you or something. I’ve fixed it in your other comment as well.
As well as the challenges of being a parent, there are MANY favourites for me. One thing about being a mum that I absolutely love is seeing my cherubs master something, learn something new, or experience that sheer joy from doing something that makes them completely and utterly happy.
I have a few toys, including my cabbage patch kid (Emily) that my children play with. We also read a few books from my childhhod too – very special.
As you mentioned, reliving your childhood is definitely a highlight too.
All wonderful parts of being a parent!
