No-Sew Fabric Crafts

2011_12_28_2237

Emma received a copy of 100+ No-Sew Fabric Crafts for Kids as a Christmas gift from my parents. It has been a great gift for my crafty nearly-six-year-old! Isn’t this little elephant cute?

Emma reads No-Sew Fabric Crafts for Kids

She loves to thumb through the pages to find the perfect project, trace the patterns, and create the final product. She needs help cutting fabric, but these can also be made out of construction paper, which she can cut all on her own!

I love seeing my kids plan projects from start to finish, and it’s wonderful to see them draw inspiration from books as well as the rest of their world!

How fun! You have such great ideas! My 6-yr-old daughter would love having that book. And I know my 3-year-old son would love stealing it from her. :)

  2. Such a great age! My daughter is 6 and loves doing craft projects independently or with a little help. Love that little elephant! I’m going to show it to her when she gets home : )

  3. Emma is so crafty! I can’t quite imagine Anna executing such a complex project on her own, because her planning and organization skills are still somewhat lacking.

The elephant is adorable!! And I am truly impressed with Emma’s crafting abilities. Does she use thinner paper to trace the patterns and then transfer those to construction paper or fabric?

    1. She uses tracing paper (thinner and much easier to see through) to trace the patterns, and then transfers them =)

  5. That books looks so cool! I’m assuming the elephant is made of paper, because I can’t imagine fabric standing up that well.

    1. It’s actually a single layer of printed felt. For regular fabric, you are supposed to iron fusible interfacing to it so that it will stand up.
