We’ve been too snowed in to get to work a couple times this winter, so Mike has had to work from home. He’s tried this in the past, but the kids are finally old enough that they understand that Daddy has to work. Kind of. This was Johnny and Lily’s way of leaving Mike alone: they were playing with plastic dinosaurs (popular toy in our home), and would occasionally get them stuck under the door of the room Mike was working in. Then I would have to open the door to get them out for them. They did a good job of not bothering Daddy, though, even when I opened the door to retrieve their dinosaurs.
Where’s the learning? Mike got some insight into what we do all day, the kids got some insight into what Mike does all day, and we all learned that, if they need to, the kids are pretty good at letting Daddy work! =)

While Daddy doesn’t have to work from home often, E does like to push things under the door when he’s in the bathroom. She thinks it hilarious and sends him little love notes that way.
Another precious picture of your kids! That little Lily seems to have an awesome attention span!
Jamie works from home almost everyday and we love it!! He turned a very large carport into a workshop and small office space. So, he isn’t necessarily in the “house” while he works the entire time, but he’s still at home.
PS, I hope the rest of your week goes well!! Thinking of you.
What a treat for everyone to have Mike home for the day. This photo reminds me of my own children. Troy works from home and my cherubs seem to think that if they are not actually in the office then they are not interrupting daddy’s work!
Dinosaurs right under the door Dad is working behind. Sounds like something my nephew McGyver would do. Tomorrow we are taking the whole dinosaur thing into the preschool and our pre-k sensory tub. You might enjoy doing this activity with your boys since they have dinosaurs on the brain. joyce:)
Too funny! Dave had to work from home on Thursday, because we were snowed in. Abby brought a lot of stuff into the office to work “with” him. LOL!
That’s really cute! I sometimes do freelance work from home… I’ll have to have your kids give my girls lessons on how to behave!
Too funny! Anna is pretty good in letting me work from home especially when she hears me from the phone.
Awww.. they are so cute!! My girls are pretty good at letting Mark work from home too, but he always takes a few minutes to join us for lunch. A great reason to love snow days! :-)
That insight into each other’s days is so valuable!
It definitely not easy! We love having my hubby work from home. As you observed…everyone eventually gets used to the idea. We hang a mailbox from the door handle. Your kids may enjoy making and decorating one for the next time Daddy’s working from home. That way they can leave him mail.
That’s too cute that they wanted to play right outside the door where he was working!
That picture is priceless! It’s hard for little guys to leave Daddy alone.
Too sweet!!! I love it!
