For Daddy experiment time, Mike decided to find out if cinnamon smelled like cinnamon when it burned. First, he grated some cinnamon so the kids would see how ground cinnamon was made. Lily wasn’t so sure about this use of the cheese grater!
Next, he tried burning the cinnamon, which just smelled like burning wood. Lily is a tough audience!
Then Mike showed the kids that their new cinnamon stick charcoal could double as a pencil!
Isn’t Emma’s cinnamon charcoal stick message sweet? I heart you too, Dada! =)

Yes, Emma’s message is super sweet. This is a fabulous experiment! Your learning laboratory posts are always so interesting. I love seeing what you come up with. The first picture of Lily is awesome–love to know the thoughts going through her little head!
Daddy experiments are the best. Educational and dangerous. Total bonus!
Lily’s reactions are great, and Emma’s charcoal artwork precious! :)
I love the charcoal component of this. I might have us do this with a few different things to see how they compare.
Sweet. I see that Dada likes to play with fire :)

Lily may not look impressed, but I’m impressed that she managed to sit still for the experiment. That’s great that she’s so interested!
Great little science activity! Emma’s message is adorable!
