Johnny, looking at our wedding picture:
Why is Mama and Dada getting married, and kids are staying home, and Mama and Dada isn’t playing with us?
Introductions at gymnastics class:
Teacher (to Lily): What’s your name?
Lily: Baby Dinosaur.
Johnny (very loudly): ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAR
Mama (in attempt to distract him): Are you a dinosaur?
Johnny: Yes! ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAR
Mama: What kind of dinosaur?
Johnny: A ROOOOOOOOOOOAAAR dinosaur!
Arriving at my sister’s house, with Johnny asleep in the car:
Mama: Mike, can you carry Johnny in? He’s asleep.
Lily: I’m asleep, too!
Driving through town:
Emma: Why are there American flags everywhere?
Mama: Because we live in America.
Emma: Or, to let people know that they live in America. Like, in case they forget.
Bonus over-tired Daddy quote:
The best thing about having an air conditioner is the air conditioning.
MaryAnne is a craft loving educator, musician, photographer, and writer who lives in Silicon Valley with her husband Mike and their four children.
I loved all of them, but baby dinosaur (clearly a sister of a Rooar dinosaur) cracks me up.
I love how you record these sweet moments! You will be forever grateful!
How cute! Love the pic!
All of these made me laugh!! Can’t pick a favourite. Such fun kids!!
Love the bonus Daddy quote!
Before I had kids I lived without A/C, but now I’m with Daddy’s overtired opinion.
It works wonders at our house, both in terms of keeping the kids non-grumpy and helping them fall asleep at night!
So cute talks, I love “why are there American Flags everywhere?” and Emma answered it so intelligently.
I love the Tiny Talk link up! I’m finally back on there.
The dinosaur roar is popular around here too. Lately, since I gave my son a sneak peak of Star Wars it’s the ROAR of a Wookie!
The wedding picture one made me laugh. My girls constantly ask “Why aren’t we in your wedding picture?”
LOL at Daddy’s quote. Lily is pretty smart saying she was asleep too, that’s hilarious!
I don’t think you could live in Texas without AC……….
If you ever figure out the secret to distracting kids from being noisy let me know.
These are wonderful. I love Johnny’s question about why you and Mike aren’t playing with your kids at your wedding. =)
I needed this chuckle this morning! So sweet, those kids… thank you!
I’d say Mike’s quote wins. a/c IS the best part of having a/c!!
We’ve only had a/c for a couple years, and the having a/c part of it is pretty wonderful – especially in our recent hot and muggy weather!
