Emma Teaches School

School lessons by Emma

This easel sat in our living room mostly unused for two years. Then, remembering how much my siblings and I adored having a chalkboard in our room growing up, I moved it into the kids’ room. Suddenly it gets used every single day. All three kids love to draw on it, but Emma adores using it for lessons. I enjoyed reading her schedule on the board: We will go to gym today. We will go to Lively Letters today. We are recess and with friends today. Or, to use her spellings: “We wil go to gim TODAY. We wil g to LiVLe LATRZ TODAY. WeeAR RESES AND WiTh FRNS.”

  1. This is so neat! We have an easel too, but it’s stuck in the garage due to lack of space. I love Emma’s inventive spelling.

  2. I can only imagine the fun they are having playing school! I remember playing school with my brother growing up. I always had to be the teacher. :)

  3. This is so cute. Selena also is often found playing school on our white board or with her little chalk board. It is fun to watch how much they are truly learning and turning into play.
