Emma, Johnny, and Lily Quotes: Story Land Edition

Riding in style in Cinderella's pumpkin carriage

Riding in style in Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage

Mike took a Friday afternoon off work, and we made the three-hour drive up to Story Land. We got a hotel courtesy of Mike’s business travel hotel points, and had a great time Saturday as well before driving home at closing on Saturday. The kids had a wonderful time – it’s the perfect park for their age range! Somehow they had the energy to stay awake for all but the final hour of the drive home…

In the car, on the way to Story Land:
Johnny: Daddy, are those your sunglasses?
Mike: Yes.
Johnny: Where are your moonglasses?

At the dinner table:
Johnny: I wish K and A (friends who are 4yo twin girls) were boys. Then I could play with them.
Mama: You can play with them even though they are girls.
Johnny: I don’t play with girls. I don’t like girls.
Dada: Girls are better than ice cream.
Johnny: But I don’t very like to eat girls. I don’t like to eat people. Cause people are icky.

At Story Land, waiting – somewhat impatiently – to ride the Whirling Whales:
Lily (holding out her hand): Whales, stop! I made a stop sign!

As we’re driving home:
Emma: When can we go to Story Land Again?

  1. I am so happy that y’all got to go to Story Land. I know you’d been hoping too!

The quotes are very funny, Mary Anne.

    Sweet picture of Lily.

  2. Story Land looks like it is well worth a three hour drive. I clicked on the link and saw so many attractions my cherubs would absolutely love – Blakie would be so excited to ride the antique cars, pirate ship and farm tractor and Savvy would love to see Cinderella’s pumpkin coach.

Moonglases – I can imagine Johnny’s comment about this making you laugh.

  3. I have not been to Story Land since I was a kid! My in-laws take Parker every year, which is a great little vacation for them, but I’m always sad that I don’t get to go with him. And this probably was his last year… he might be too old next summer.

  4. Andrea @ The Train To Crazy

Oh, I love Storyland! My girls talk about it all the time still. We haven’t ventured to Disney here. (shh, the kids don’t know what it is yet!)

  5. I have no idea what Story Land is, but it looks and sounds like fun. We keep meaning to go to our local amusement park or fair, but never seem to be able to coordinate it.

  6. Oh, that place looks great! Ingrid did the same thing at the fair, she kept yelling stop! it’s my turn now! And then would freak out the ride didn’t listen to her.

  7. We love Story Land! You are right about it being the perfect park for this age. Did you have a chance to visit Santa’s Village?

Great quotes! I was just thinking that I could use a pair of moon glasses. LOL!

    1. We didn’t get a chance to visit Santa’s Village, but it sounds fun – hopefully next time!
