Back to School with BJs

Back to school with BJs

It seems like most of my Massachusetts-born-and-raised friends shop at BJs, so when I was given the opportunity to visit and check out their back to school products, I decided to give it a go. BJ’s is a warehouse store, but carries many products in smaller quantities and accepts manufacturer’s coupons in addition to their store coupons.

We got a tour of the store, with a focus on their impressive range of back to school products. I was also happy to see a good variety of organic products, and to learn that BJ’s has their own guidelines for products to earn their natural label.

They also had a nice range of organic products! We rounded out our tour with a demonstration and taste test of BJ’s sandwich solutions. I’ll be sending school lunches with Emma this fall for the first time – have any great lunch suggestions for me?

Disclosure: I received back to school supplies and a BJ’s gift card. All opinions are, as always, my own.

  1. The first time we went back East as a family, I asked someone where take my kids!
    They said, “BJ’s”
I was expecting a jumping place, games, toys..something with fun kid activities!
I laughed so hard when it was a warehouse store…like Costco!
We ended up having a blast at BJ’s! :)

How cool that they gave you school supplies!

Good luck with the lunches… I think back on my own packed lunches and have to laugh. Bologna and cheese on white bread, made in advance for the week and frozen until the day of (and I was so sad if I got my dad’s or sister’s which had mustard), Capri-sun grape drink, and a Little Debbie snack. Every.single.day for 12 years unless we had a field trip. Not remotely as healthy or as varied as I would feel pressured to come up with if I had to do it, but I succeeded academically anyhow! :)

  3. J loves leftovers for lunches, but the teachers microwave it for him (cold pasta and rice might not taste too good). I personally grew up on hot lunch ($1/day back in the day) which I never ate since I was a very picky eater, so I wouldn’t recommend going that route.

  4. I’m always a little sad in the fall that I’m not going back to school because I love back-to-school supplies! As for lunch ideas, of course I have to recommend my husband’s blog, http://www.lunchboxblues.com! I usually get whatever is leftover from Parker’s lunch for my lunch :)

    1. I love seeing Parker’s lunches – they always look and sound delicious! I’ll have to go through and pick out some ideas to try…

  5. I really do enjoy warehouse stores oh and I LOVE back to school supplies! Haven’t been in a while – great to know they have organics.
