Afterschooling: Ready for Spring Break!!!

In search of ants

Our spring break is this upcoming week, and we are all looking forward to it! This week we played outside as much as possible in nice weather (and even in a rainstorm), read a bunch of books (these were our favorite reads this week), planted tomato seeds (really hope they survive!), and experimented with candy. Mike was out of town for the first time in a while, and we missed him terribly. So glad he’s back again – but the kids did their best to keep me laughing in his absence!

I had a prenatal appointment, where Baby Girl confirmed all previous evidence of a very healthy heart. This has been my best pregnancy so far, thanks to a combination of factors. For once, I’m not taking care of a baby, or trying to maintain a crazy work/study schedule for school. And I finally acknowledged that my reflux issues were severe enough to warrant medication. Who know it was possible to sleep during a pregnancy?! This baby has also been kind enough thus far to kick enough that I don’t worry, but not enough that I don’t sleep. I can feel third trimester exhaustion approaching (even though I’m not there yet), so I’m trying to get as much done before it sets in full force. Previous experience has taught me that I don’t get the nesting instinct rush of energy that so many women talk about – so far at, least! If that changes, I never have any trouble coming up with projects to keep myself busy. :)

Afterschool Blog Hop
The Afterschool Blog Hop is hosted this week by What Do We Do All Day? I hosted the blog hop last week, and loved this collection of Montessori-Inspired Lorax Activities from Living Montessori Now. Mom to 2 Posh Lil Divas shared some fun ways to play and learn with plastic Easter eggs. How was your week?

  1. Wow! Spring Break? How nice that its a bit later…it makes for better weather! I hope you have a blast…and I can’t wait to see all the fun!
This last pregnancy was my best ever too! And this baby has been my easiest recovery!
    Hooray for good pregnancies!

  2. Enjoy your spring break! Ours was a couple weeks ago. I’m definitely experiencing third trimester exhaustion… so glad you aren’t!

    1. I’m not third trimester quite yet – but can definitely feel the exhaustion approaching. Hopefully I get a few more weeks of energy in, first!

  3. I didn’t get any kind of nesting energy with JC, which I found very disappointing. It sounds so nice, doesn’t it? :-)

  4. Our spring break was this week, and Anna enjoyed it a lot, but complained daily that she misses school. I am glad your pregnancy is going well. Hopefully Baby Girl #3 will continue to cooperate before and after her birth!
