A Book Full of Great Kids Activities

3-IMG_6300

I find my fellow bloggers very inspiring, so I was happy to review 150+ Screen-Free Activities for Kids (affiliate link) from my fellow kids activities blogger, Asia Citro. I read a lot of activity books for kids, and the things that sets this one apart from the rest is the number of taste-safe activities, as well as allergen-friendly activities! Many of the activities include different recipes – taste-safe versions, gluten-free versions, etc. This makes the book a wonderful resource for parents, educators, and daycare providers.

Asia’s book is also full of activities that will engage older kids who can be trusted not to put things in their mouths! The book features several imaginative playscapes like the erupting volcano dinosaur world as well as ideas of toys kids can make.

Most of the activities use items you will probably have at home, or that you can easily find in your local grocery store. For the few harder-to-find items, Asia includes a reference section with recommendations of where to buy special items.

The taste-safe features in this book make it a wonderful gift for new moms, or mothers of toddlers who are still in that put everything in your mouth stage. I would have loved a gift basket like the one above when I was looking for ways to keep one-year-old Emma busy while looking after newborn Johnny! It would also make a great back-to school gift – this book is full of the sensory-rich activities that I love to use to help my kids decompress after school!

Love a book that features simple screen free activities! Why look at a screen when you can touch, taste, hear and LIVE life!

  2. How cool that it actually has activities for older kids. I find so many of the books concentrate on preschool that I feel left out with my older kids now (of course when my kids were younger it felt like the opposite, so I’m sure it’s all perception).

    1. I really like that about this book – the activities aren’t just for little kids, even though many of them are highly sensory. “Big” kids like sensory activities, too!

Great review. I just stumbled on the activity there that Smarty is actually quite enthusiastic about. Now, to find time…
